Course Background
Virtually every business and organisation needs to store, manage and retrieve information quickly and easily. The use of databases has dramatically increased in recent years to meet these needs, and Microsoft Access has emerged as the most popular entry level database application.
This course is designed to give delegates a general understanding of what a database is, and teaches how to create and use Access databases effectively in their own work environments to store large amount of tabulated data. Courses are also available in intermediate & Access VBA.
Trainee pre-requisite knowledge
No previous experience with Access or databases is necessary, although a basic understanding of files and folders would be helpful, along with basic keyboard and mouse skills.

- Create multiple tables
- Cross reference tables to avoid duplication of data
- Switch between views and save tables
- Specify which type of data will be stored and implement fail safes for inaccurate data entry.
- Add, modify and delete records Sort data to increase usability
- Use autoform to create quick on screen entry layouts
- Filter and search data with advanced filters
- Enter data using forms
- Create queries to store the layout and appearance of data
- Print out data simply or on customised reports
- Include business graphics and colour schemes into the database
- Import data from Excel or Word to minimise manual input
- Export data into common Office applications
